Steven Song is a texture and grooming artist, currently working at Digital Frontier FX. He was born in the USA but raised in Thailand.
In this presentation, Steven Song will take us through his entire process of creating one of his latest artwork called Duck Creature. He will talk about references, modeling, texturing, grooming, and presentation.

Once he decided he wanted to pursue art as a career he decided to attend Minneapolis College of Art and Design. Stepping in the film industry, Steven realized there were so many things that needed to be learned. How fast the industry is and getting your foot into the door, it’s the hardest thing for most people. So after spending more and more time making his reel stronger, he came to know of Gnomon School of Visual Effects.
Steven Song decided to first take his individual classes and wanting to make sure it was what he wanted. He switched to their full-time program and he gained more knowledge of the software, but most importantly he learned how to handle the struggle of the industry.
