The aftermath of the workshop for 3D modeling and printing for high school students

Last Saturday (November 13, 2021) in the amphitheater of the Faculty of Information Sciences and Computer Engineering (FINKI), a workshop on 3D modeling and 3D printing was held for high school students. 15 motivated and curious students learned the basics of 3D modeling and 3D printing and had the opportunity to practically operate a 3D printer. The lecturer of the workshop was the prominent lead instructor Florina Dzingova, from the M3DS Academy, and also prof. Dr. Boban Joksimoski, as well as other instructors and 3D generalists from M3DS, Nikola Kocevski, and Antonio Dimishkov. During the workshop, the participants learned a little more about 3D modeling in the Autodesk Maya and ZBrush programs, as well as the proper preparation of 3D prints in the correct software to obtain the correct dimensions, according to a certain type of 3D printer.

We also got acquainted with what types of 3D printers exist, with what materials we can print, and we discussed the wide application of this technology in various industrial, medical, and other fields.

The project "Workshop for 3D modeling and 3D printing" is supported and funded by the City of Skopje, and partners in its implementation are the Academy of Visual Arts M3DS and the Faculty of Information Sciences and Computer Engineering (FINKI).
